These simple yeast rolls are easy and fast to make, and taste great.
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons shortening
- 1 cup hot water
- 2.5 teaspoons yeast
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix sugar, shortening, and hot water.
- Allow to cool until lukewarm, and then mix in the yeast until dissolved.
- Mix in the egg, salt, and flour.
- Allow to rise until doubled.
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Grease 8 muffin cups.
- Divide the dough into the 8 muffin cups, and allow to rise until doubled again.
- Bake for 10 minutes in preheated oven or until a knife inserted in the center of a roll comes out clean.
